Song of the Sirens : The Waterfall of Bouamara of Kurt Lolo

A waterfall is defined as a place where water flows on a vertical descent along the length of the trajectory of a river or stream. With such a simple definition, it is surprising to learn there are 10 classifications of waterfalls, and several of these 10 categories also have sub - categories. There are ledge waterfalls, with 3 categories : block/ sheet , classical, and curtain waterfalls. There are plunge waterfalls with a sub - category of punchbowl shape waterfalls. There is the horsetail waterfall, which has 4 sub - categories : slide, ribbon, chute and fan shaped. There is the cascade waterfall and the tiered or multi -step or staircase waterfall. The largest waterfalls are called cataract waterfalls, like the Niagara Falls, on the border between the United States and Canada in Ontario, and the Victoria Falls, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe in Africa. These two waterfalls have a volume of 3,160 tons of water per second for the Niagara Falls, and 4,700 m3 every second for the Victoria Falls. At the end of the list are also segmented waterfalls, frozen and moulin waterfalls, the last one referring to a waterfall inside a glacier.
Waterfalls are a phenomenon found every where on earth, and the most famous waterfalls are as follows : in Venezuela :the Angel Falls; in England : the Aysgarth waterfalls; in China, on the border with Vietnam : the Ban - Gioc - Detian waterfalls; in the United States : the Niagara Falls on the border with Canada, and Bridal Veil Falls of Yosemite in California; in Iceland : the Dettifoss waterfall; in Scotland : the Eas a' Chual Aluinn waterfall; in Peru : the Gocta waterfall; in India : the Jog waterfalls at Karnataka; and in central Guyana : the Kaieteur waterfalls; in Switzerland : the Reichenbach waterfalls; and in Norway: the Ramnefjellsfossen waterfall; and on the border between Brazil and Argentina are the Iguazu waterfalls.
The beautiful waterfall in the photograph of Kurt Lolo of Lolo Pics is a bewitching shot of the waterfall of Bouamara, Ait - Bouaissi, Tizi n'berbere, Aokas - Bejaia. It is a curtain waterfall, with the water descending from a height higher than the width of the waterfall. This waterfall has a second smaller waterfall at its side, which give the impression that the waterfalls are the spirits of of two water nymphs, a mother and daughter. This waterfall has the name of cotton waterfall, because of the  soft quality of its foaming water. This waterfall has a magical beauty, because of being surrounded by a cave behind the waterfalls, that adds an air of mystery and secrecy to the site, and this cave is rich in greenery, which in its turn adds a romantic atmosphere, an air of intrigue and dramatic energy. The presence of the dark cave, where one imagines the sirens of the waterfall live, increases the sensation of an echo whose sound one imagines to reign over this intimate and timeless place. It is a waterfall that invites relaxation, daydreams, the memory of favorite songs and symphonies, the surprise of outbursts of delight and laughter when faced with this hypnotizing beauty.
Waterfalls always impress with their power, their energy, and this photograph has the marvelously unique signature of Kurt Lolo : this very feminine double waterfall that embraces the presence of the dark and somewhat forbidding depths of the cave, inspires us to celebrate the complete intimacy of a moment where nature invites us to celebrate the grandeur and irresistible seduction and the unique character of this nature in Algeria.
